Southbank Centre Christmas Market

The Cologne Christmas Market brings an evocative German Christmas feeling to London's Southbank Centre. From 20 November - 23 December 2009 the area between the London Eye and the Royal Festival Hall turns into a festive promenade for the young and the young-at-heart.

Experience up to 60 traditionally decorated wooden chalets with beautiful lights selling a wide range of unique hand-crafted gifts and unusual Christmas presents. Toys made of wood, delicate glass Christmas tree ornaments, candles and many more Christmas products are offered in this magical winter atmosphere. Sip a warming glühwein (German mulled wine), enjoy a famous German Bratwurst or indulge yourself with roasted nuts, gingerbread hearts, and many other delicious treats. Younger visitors can ride the carousel whilst parents relax, listening to traditional Christmas music.
