Munster Christmas Market

Weihnachten 2005 - Munster Christmas Market With a flap of the wings of the stork on the road of wine of the Alsace, discover, in the midst of the protected country of the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges, a world of silence: the Valley of Munster. Far away from the busy hustle and bustle of the people, in the heart of the little town of Munster, between the two churches, you will find the Bredlamarik (Christmas fair). This is is market of the christmas biscuits of the Alsace. From the roof of the former Abbey of St. Grégoire the storks observe the people who are just tasting the 35 kinds of Bredla (christmas biscuits) and the other specialities of the Valley, like the Munstercheese, with a mocking eye. A festival of the senses, the warmth of the mulled wine, the unmistakable smell of the soup of Munster…you will feel it that you are in the country of the gourmets.

The craftsmen, how should it be different, will be there, too. You will find them at the Bredlamarik as well as at the market of the local produts which takes place in the last week of the year. The traders of the Valley of Munster who are well-known for their warm reception will make all possible to fulfil your wishes.

Coming to the Valley of Munster…that means to discover the massif of the Vosges, e.g. at a guided snowshoed hiking walk with the sunset…that means to practise all the different kinds of winter sport…that means to taste the popular wine of the Alsace…that means to visit the production of the well-known Munstercheese, visit a farm and make you familiar with the cow-breed of the Vosges who are the gems of our Valley…that means to spent a wondeful evening with listening the fairytails and legends of the Alsace…or to sing the christmas songs with us, e.g. at the concert of the choir…here in the Alsace that is a tradition!

Rest in the Valley of Munster…that means to participate at numerous events…like a course in cooking Alsatian, like baking the Bredla (christmas biscuits) with our splendid pastry-cooks, like visit a concert of the choir which will be organised by the association of music and singing…

The Valley of Munster that is the center of sport as well as of culture. That shows the pool and the health center, the new cinema…a big offer of accommodations, restaurants, inns and farms…

Here at us it is different, you will feel it: We know what it means to make time.
